Got questions?

We’ve got answers!

Thanks for your interest in Happy Little Camper!

Here are some Happy Little Camper FAQs to help you learn more about us, our products, and our mission:

Q: What products does Happy Little Camper make?

Happy Little Camper currently offers 100% natural cotton wipes, healthy hypoallergenic flushable wipes and natural cotton nappies.

Q: What makes Happy Little Camper different?

Happy Little Camper cotton wipes are made from hypoallergenic, 100% natural cotton and natural lotion. Conventional wipes from well-known brands are made from blends of bleached cotton and/or synthetic products. They can contain dioxins from the bleaching process, pesticide and herbicide residues, synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, and dyes. Happy Little Camper cotton wipes are 100% cotton, biodegradable, and have no polyethylene glycols (PEG), parabens, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), silicones, ethyl alcohol, perfume, synthetics, and dyes. As a result, Happy Little Camper wipes reduce the risk of irritation and allergic reactions.

Q: Wait, aren’t the leading brands I already buy made of cotton with natural lotions?

No! Most leading brand wipes are made from various blends of synthetic materials with chemical-laden lotions. Happy Little Camper always puts all of our ingredients in the package description so you can make an informed choice.

Q: What does "natural" mean, anyway?

Natural means our cotton wipes are made only with natural materials, 100% cotton that is non-GMO and not bleached with chlorine.

Q: What are the ingredients in Happy Little Camper natural cotton wipes and flushable wipes ?

Happy Little Camper 100% natural cotton wipes and flushable wipes have NO chlorine, NO ethyl alcohol, NO fragrances, NO silicone, NO parabens, NO polyethylene glycols (PEG), and NO polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The lotion ingredients are Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Organic), Coco-glucoside, Sodium Citrate, Benzyl Alcohol (Non-ethanol Based, Aromatic Preservative), Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Betaine and Citric Acid.

Q: Do Happy Little Camper flushable wipes comply with industry standards?

Yes, Happy Little Camper is the only brand that offers such a healthy, affordable flushable wipe that also complies with INDA and EDANA flushable guidelines, created by the leading associations of nonwoven fabrics and related industries in the US and Europe.

Q: Aren’t there other natural and organic wipes on the market?

Yes, but only Happy Little Camper is hypoallergenic, 100% natural cotton that is priced competitively with conventional brands and widely available. Other wipes charge a premium for their natural label, even when they contain chemicals or synthetics.

Q:How do I dispose of Happy Little Camper compostable and biodegradable nappies?

It is recommended that when disposing of our Happy Little Camper nappies, that you empty the contents of the nappy into the toilet before it goes in the bin. Dirty nappies hold human waste and for this reason can be a potential health hazard if anyone/anything comes into contact with it. We recommend wrapping it up tightly in a biodegradable bag, our recyclable packaging, or sustainable materials such as newspaper, to avoid exposure. We advise against wrapping it in a plastic bag.

Q: Why do we choose non-GMO cotton in our nappies?

Conventionally grown GMO cotton is one of the most toxic crops in the world, accounting for up to 25% of the world’s use of insecticides for its 2.5% of global cropland!

Baby’s skin is thinner and therefore more permeable than adult’s skin. Babies are also more heavily exposed to toxins in proportion to their body weight, resulting in an increased vulnerability to exposure to toxins.

When you consider how long babies are in nappies for, and the dangerous chemicals that GMO cotton has been sprayed with, your baby’s skin is potentially being exposed to accumulative amounts of toxic ingredients soaking into their tiny bodies.

Due to the sensitivity of a baby’s skin, the top and back sheet of our nappies are made up of GMO-free cotton. This means that not only is your baby comfortable in Happy Little Camper, but also safe and free from harsh chemicals.

Q: Why don’t Happy Little Camper nappies have a wetness indicator?

Happy Little Camper nappies come without the wetness indicator and that is for a very good reason!

The wetness indicator is made from harsh dyes and chemicals which can be harmful to your baby’s bottom – especially for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Happy Little Camper promises to give you a nappy which is natural and hypoallergenic hence why our nappies don’t have the chemically infused wetness indicator.

For more information on wetness indicators you can read our blog HERE.

Q: Where are Happy Little Camper nappies made?

Q: Can I buy Happy Little Camper nappies overseas?

Q: How many nappies do I need to pack in my hospital bag?

Packing a hospital bag can be an exciting but daunting task for any mum. Newborns can require up to 12 nappy changes a day! We recommend that you pack enough nappies for at least one or two days, plus a few extras to make sure that you don’t run out. Better to have too many than too little!

Q: How often do I need to change nappies?

Some babies require more frequent nappy changes than others, depending on how sensitive their skin is. It is valuable to recognise when your baby’s nappy needs changing to keep him/her clean and avoid nappy rash. Babies with sensitive skin need changing as soon as they wet themselves whilst other babies can wait to be changed after each feed. However, it is important to note that all babies need changing as soon as possible after they have done a poo.

Q: What causes nappy rash?

The most popular causes of nappy rash:

1. Nappy is not changed frequently enough

2. Skin sensitivity to harmful chemicals found in unnatural nappies

3. Change in diet/introduction to new foods

Q: Do nappies expire?

Our Happy Little Camper nappies have an expiration date printed on the packet purely to comply with USA FDA regulations. As our products aren't food or drug products, the expiration date isn't applicable, but simply there for compliance. Please be assured that the product is perfectly safe to use and is not compromised due to the date printed on the packaging.
